Who doesn’t love an F-14 if you are American.

Well, I'm a bit old to do much but really, really like the TOMCAT.

The birds I "love" are the ones I knew best: A-6 Intruder and the mighty F-4 Phantom. 'Truder didn't have the speed or sex appeal of FAST MOVER but it just..got..the..job..done. (Sort of like that grubby ol' pickup that you couldn't ever kill off.)

Okay, there's another lovebird I share with my Dad: P-51D Mustang. Talked my way into a flight in a two-seat version and the experience almost made me give up jets.

If I go any further trying to describe it, I'll just wind up jibbering like a fool. Just damn.....

My dad flew the F-4 in Vietnam. He did two tours of about 8 months each. I’ll never forget when they came home. We waited on the flight line and could hear the planes before we could see them. They would always fly over and dip the wings, then come around for a touch and go before finally landing. What a sight.
