Mazzotti Reaction:
Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic
symptoms (DRESS) syndrome, also known as drug induced hypersensitivity syndrome, is a rare, potentially life-threatening adverse drug reaction with an
estimated mortality rate up to 10%.1 We report a case
of DRESS syndrome
caused by ivermectin,
which, to our knowledge, has not been reported previously;
DRESS syndrome is a severe adverse drug reaction
that typically occurs 2 to 6 weeks after initiation of
the offending drug. DRESS syndrome is characterized by generalized exanthema with facial swelling,
fever, lymphadenopathy, leukocytosis with eosinophilia, and
internal organ involvement with liver or
renal dysfunction.2 Diagnosis of DRESS syndrome is established by applying the RegiSCAR scoring system shown in Table I.

The most common causative
drugs include antiepileptics, allopurinol, antimicrobial sulfonamides, minocycline, and vancomycin.2
An association with reactivation of viruses of the
herpes family (human herpesvirus-6, Epstein-Barr
virus, and cytomegalovirus) has also been reported.
To our knowledge, this is the first reported case
adding ivermectin to the list of drugs causing DRESS
syndrome.

Note that much of the adverse side effects are actually associated with the death of the parasite organisms its being utilized to treat. Few of those would be associated with use as an anti viral/prophylactic...
one of the side effects of invermectin is LIFE.......
Well... guess I sure won’t be taking Ivermectin as a preventative, as I haven’t even known anyone who got the Coof in something like 4 months.
For Coof Jab Spike Cooties? Probably not. That pine needle tea is looking yummier and yummier! (I notice the entrepreneurs are charging outrageously for pine needles since they became a “thing”. Oh well, yay capitalism! and I guess better than a drug, with my side effect history...)
Guess the only reason I’ll ever swallow the horse paste is if I actually get the Coof.
