For anyone interested. Called the major radiology outfit that does work at all the hospitals and large clinics in my area that my doctor uses. Had to schedule mammogram. After the scheduler asked the routine questions this is how the conversation went:

Her: Do you have a fever, any symptoms of illness?
Me: No
Her: Have you had a covid vaccine?
Me: Why do you ask?
Her: If you have, we have to schedule you for at least two weeks after your last vaccine shot.
Me: No I haven't had the covid vaccine. If I had the vaccine would it be the same two week wait if I was scheduling an MRI?
Her: ...long pause...Yes
Me: Is that a new protocol? Would I have to wait two weeks after any other vaccine or a pneumonia or shingles vaccine?
Her:...very long pause... No you would not have to wait in that case, just for the covid vaccine.
Me: Why?
Her: I don't know, that's just what we are told to do with scheduling.
