That “reporting” only takes place, assuming that the CVS puts the data into an electronic form that emergency room personnel can access transparently within a couple days.

Maybe at some doctors’ offices; and maybe (as someone suggested to me) if the emergency room people treating you after the bus have the time or inclination to pull up your vaccination records to see if you got the jab within the past two weeks.

This would tend to cut down on the number of extraneous injuries you were swearing was contaminating the results in VAERS, if there were any left after people reporting they were turned into the Incredible Hulk.

The US Code link that I posted was incorrect. It was supposed to be 42 U.S. Code § 300aa–25 - Recording and reporting of information

That section gives the Secretary of Health and Human Services broad authority to require additional reporting. The reporting requirements are further defined in the EUA for each of the vaccines.
