I used to love Lava soap, but switched to “Goop” hand cleaner, then changed again to the Gojo creamy stuff with pumice. It’s the same gritty stuff that’s in Lava soap. There was nothing like grabbing a scoop of “Goop” into your greasy hands after working on the car.

Still, the “Lava” name is the coolest ever. Dial Soap should have grabbed the name years ago and made it a soap for men. Men scrubbing down with “Lava” would be a sure-fire hit. Of course, you’d have to take the pumice out first.

Actually, the word “lava” is taken from the Spanish. It means “to clean”, or some such similar.
Then marketing came up with the image.
