Kids need to read more fables and other tales from the dark side.
I blame “Where the Wild Things Are” lol. He chases a dog around with a fork and his mother calls him “Wild Thing”. Ha.. had I chased the dog around with a fork, I would have gotten the belt. My kids would have gotten a spanking. What good does sending a kid to bed hungry do? They just remember they are hungry. I have strong feelings about that book 🤣
I was reading it to my kids when they “discovered” it, thank you school, and I was giving commentary as I read it and my sons said, “Mom, it’s just a book.”
And “If you give a mouse a cookie” is cute.
