The fear drum was beaten hard every time there was human progress. Christopher Columbus was told his historic voyage would take him where there were deadly sea monsters and sail of the edge of the Earth. Like the problems associated (correctly?) with the vaccines, his ship, the Santa Maria sank of the coast of Haiti. As with human progress, setbacks never stopped human beings.

Another case of beaten fear drums was the invention of the horseless carriage. The fear was that man was never meant to go faster than the horse. And their noise scared the horses. Pop! Hiss! Bang! The first man to be successfully charged with speeding was Walter Arnold, who was caught traveling at a giddy 8mph in a 2mph limit on 28 January 1896. We know how human progress went with the automobile with all the pop!, mechanical failures and death-causing accidents that go with any technology.

So any time your feelin’ bad
‘Stead of feelin’ sad
Just remember that ram
Oops, there goes a billion kilowatt dam
Oops, there goes a billion kilowatt dam
Oops, there goes a billion kilowatt dam
All problems just a toy balloon
They’ll be bursted soon
They’re just bound to go pop
Oops, there goes another problem kerplop
Oops, there goes another problem kerplop
Oops, there goes another problem kerplop, kerplop
