It’s dishonest to present the excess deaths as all directly COVID caused.
Certainly not all of the excess deaths are directly related to COVID-19, but the vast majority of the excess deaths are. Further, some things like suicide and car accidents saw slight declines in mortality in 2020. Also important to note that nearly all of the excess mortality for circulatory issues occurred suddenly and unexpectedly in March 2020, before there was much of any available testing (thanks mostly to FDA’s incompetence). As soon as testing became available, that unexpected spike disappeared. With what we now know about how COVID-19 impacts the cardiopulmonary system, it’s pretty obvious in retrospect what happened there.
