I would not get it even if it seemed as “innocuous” as a flu shot due to bad reactions to pretty much every drug I’ve ever had, up to and including anaphylactic shock. Vax talk is purely theoretical with me.

I’m not quite that extreme, but similar nonetheless. When I was little and under the weather, my parents would right away call the doctor (anxiety over first-born child), and this was back in ancient history when they made house calls. Doctor would always bring medicine, and I would always start feeling worse after taking it. Parents never saw a link. To them, it was “See, you really *are* sick!”
I put 2 and 2 together years later, when living on my own. With the typical bugs one would get, I would do better taking nothing at all than something from the “drug store”.
Then years after that, I slipped up once, early in my marriage, because hubby is just the opposite (even to this day, despite my setting a good example), and has his medicine cabinet full of assorted junk drugs. I had a bad allergy night, and couldn’t sleep. Took Nyquil. Big mistake! Not only did it not help, but it kept me awake for around 48 hours solid, half of the time with weird tingling in my fingers and toes.
Never again, that was it. I got into herbal medicine when we had a cat with a life threatening heart condition, and never looked back...
