No. D probably does not prevent CCP but it will ameliorate it. I know quite a few people now who have been taking D3 for a few years and who got it in Feb-March last year. None had it as bad as normal bouts of flu. One went to the doctor with pneumonia and he cleared that up with normal treatment, an antibiotic and an albuterol inhaler.

I’m not so sure it’s the Vitamin D. Sure, people with high levels of Vitamin D do better, but is that because of the Vitamin D or because of something else. It’s been known for some time that people with high levels of Vitamin D are healthier, on average, than those who don’t. It’s been hypothesized that people who are healthier are out in the sun more and therefore, they have higher levels of Vitamin D. But the question is, does the higher levels of Vitamin D make them healthier or do they have high levels of Vitamin D because they are healthier. It should be obvious that healthier people will suffer less from COVID than those who are not so healthy. Perfect example of chickens and eggs.
