That's not how the viral vector vaccines such a J&J and AstraZeneca work at all. The snippet the OP posted is accurate. So as I've long pointed out, the mRNA vaccines are arguably less intrusive than the J&J vaccine for those concerned about the mRNA technology.
It is for that reason and the fact that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines provide better than 90% efficacy rather than the less than 70% efficacy of the J&J vaccine that I chose Pfizer for my family.
