Yes, since he's been stripped of his "royal" title, he's just Harry now. His last name is really Battenberg. (King George V changed their last name to Windsor during WWI after public outrage at the Germans bombing a school as part of their city bombing raids).
So, Harry Battenberg, the German/Brit, has issues with an inalienable right identified in the U.S. Constitution. So did his ancestors which is why we threw them out of the country not once but twice. We also had to go back to Europe and fight in in not one but two world wars to clean up their mess.
This peasant needs to go visit the graves of Americans who died for his freedoms.
Saxe coburg gotha (Prince Albert’s family name) was changed to Windsor. Battenburg (Prince Philip’s maternal family name) was changed to Mountbatten.
His “official” last name is Windsor-Montbatten; which was a combination of the Queen’s name and his grandfather’s.
Montbatten is, of course, the Anglicized version of Battenberg.
So, yeah....they are all saxons.
George V adopted Windsor to replace Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, a Germanic name, though not Battenberg. In 1960 the royals added Mountbatten to Windsor as a hyphenated last name when Elizabeth married Phillip of Greece. He had adopted Mountbatten when he naturalized as a Brit.
