A couple fun facts about this song:
1. The sound of the drums comes in part from setting up John Bonham’s drum kit inside a stairwell.
2. The only thing that was recorded at normal speed on the finished track is Robert Plant’s vocals.

Are you suggesting Zeppelin plagiarized that song?

... processed through limiters and run through a Binson echorec per Andy Johns who recorded it.

The bass part is really fun, has to be just right to make the overall groove work.

(Any comment might be sarcasm, or not. It depends. Often I'm not sure either.)

JPJ was so underappreciated, just knew how to play perfectly if not flashy, as some of the other bassists of the era.

Ditto! I have two Zep playlists:
1) w/ all the great songs minus the annoying ones
2) Kashmir & When the Levee Breaks.

Memphis Minnie's opus was one of many songs inspired by the lower Mississippi Valley flood of 1927, which she experienced. Here is another, recorded by Vernon Dalhart, the most popular singer of the 1920's.
