I thought he was an excellent speaker....I missed the part about not being able to absorb from the Sun( I think its more like the sun activates vit d????) above the 36th latitude.....
I was surprised to learn that black skinned people really are generally very low in Vit D especially in the upper USA....of all the public service announcements this should be number one.....but alas, there's no money in vitamins...

If you get the D3 from milk and eggs (usually not enough from foods) they don't need the sun.
One thing I found interesting in this is where does the bacteria (Bacteroides thetaiotamicron) come from to produce the 7-Dehydrocholesterol? our body can't produce it. It seems Thiamine (b1) helps process it.
