I adored earlier R&B and soul music. I looked at this list hoping to find something, but I just have to admit I hate everything on it.
How about some contemporary “throwback” soul from modern smaller labels?
The late Charles Bradley covered Black Sabbath for his final album a few years ago.

Agree. ..........Mid-’50s and ‘60s had some good albums, too.
Platters, Drifters, Clovers, Jimmy Reed, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Imperials, etc.
