Be careful around St Marys G and Fernandina Bch. There was/is a lumber mill that puts out nasty pollutants and smell.
If the wind is right you will pick up on it. If not you’ll miss it.

There was a paper mill near Mobile. The smell would curdle asphalt.
We moved to Augusta, GA soon after Mobile, and guess what.
Yup. Paper mill. Georgia Pacific, I guess.
No one dared complain to friends or neighbors. Chances were somebody had a relative working there.
