^ This. Disclaimer...I don't live in TN but have family there that just concluded a 12 year court battle over a boundary dispute. The land was originally all part of one large farm and the guy with the smallest tract was trying to take land from my family member because his didn't have access to the State park and creek. At the end of the day, the guy lost and it was the fault of the crooked surveyor who lost his license during this process. The whole thing was very shady and now the guy is trying to take land from the neighbor on the other side. From following along with this case, I learned their laws are quite different from where I live. Get a reputable attorney and surveyor before you close the deal.

Holy cow. I’m surprised somebody didn’t just take the guy out behind the woodshed. Why do some folks demand to make other folk’s lives miserable? And then a crooked surveyor on top of that. Another wow. I’ve seen some crazy (illegal) stuff in real estate. The really heavy stuff leads to market downturns. You sure have to watch yourself.
