There are 2 teachers in the family. They are the ones I was going to give to first. Then I know some home schooling families and Sunday school teachers that may want supplies. I just need to collect and box it all up.

When there’s so much in our homes, it can be hard to decide where to start whittling. This is an easy choice now that I have a focused purge.

I think sometimes it can feel like either we’re closing the door on a part of our lives (giving up a hobby/tools or passing along things collected through a lifelong career) or we’re admitting defeat (those skinny clothes that no longer fit) and either one is HARD.

Part of my job was attending HR conferences, and there’s always swag given away. Often that includes some type of business book. When I looked around I had FIFTEEN books that I had accumulated. I’ve never read them. I had to admit I never would because I don’t care enough. So, why do I have them still? I realized that it’s because they made me feel valued (my employer felt I was worth spending the money to send me to the conference) and educated (even though I’ve never read the books).

But someone who is just starting their career would make better use of them. They’re now in a box to go to Goodwill.
