My ophthalmologist just recommended PreserVision AREDS 2. Is that what you’re supposed to take?

It has lutein, copper, zinc, vitamins C and E as well as zeaxanthin. I bought some, but am not taking it yet. Still have some plain lutein left, and waste not, want not, you know.

Cataract surgery in a few weeks. Macular degeneration came up during last week’s workup for the surgery. Thus the recommendation for the new med.

Yes that’s it. I see it has zinc 80 milligrams and I already take 25. That sounds like a lot.

AREDS 2 is what my ophthalmologist recommended for My macular degeneration. I inquired re: lutein additionally due to many comments here and I had been taking it. He said the AREDS has adequate lutein

I think Spunky’s hubby taking it was good
