Not sure. From what little research I've done, Trump endorsed McKissick at least 3 times: before Wood entered the race, the day AFTER Wood entered the race, and then again this past Friday. The SC Republican Party (with Drew at the head) intervened in two federal cases brought against the South Carolina Election Commission. One of those cases was heard by the US Supreme Court, which reinstated the witness signature requirement for mail-in voting.

Quite frankly, if some guy from out of state suddenly moved into Tennessee and tried to become the GOP party head a few months later, and the current GOP party head seems to be a decent guy, and the challenger couldn't produce any legitimate reason to change the incumbent, I wouldn't vote for him.

I know Lin is Southern so the term doesn't technically fit, but I'd call him a carpetbagger.
