The election in Peru hasn’t been called yet, but it looks as though a Marxist has won.

Even at this point, the official results have not been proclaimed, with Fujimori’s team alleging fraud and filing dozens of appeals. The masses are ready to defend the vote on the streets. There are reports of 20,000 ronderos (members of the peasant self-defence militias created during the civil war in the 1990s, of which Castillo is a member) travelling to the capital to defend the peoples’ will. A mass demonstration has been called today, 9 June, in Lima, where people have gathered for three nights in a row outside Castillo’s election headquarters.

It was the extreme fragmentation of the vote in the first round that allowed Castillo to go on to the run-off with only under 19 percent. However, his electoral success is not by chance. It is an expression of the deep crisis of the regime in Peru. Decades of anti-working-class policies of privatisation and liberalisation in a country that is extremely rich in mineral resources have left a legacy of a bourgeois democracy based on extreme disparity of wealth and pervasive corruption.

Five former presidents are either in jail or indicted for corruption. All of the institutions of bourgeois democracy are extremely discredited. Mass demonstrations in November 2020 were an expression of the deep anger accumulated in Peruvian society.

To this we have to add the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and capitalist crisis. The country suffered one of the worst economic contractions in ...

The masses of workers and peasants wanted radical change and this is precisely what Pedro Castillo represents in their eyes. His campaign had two main policy planks: the renegotiation of terms of contracts with mining multinationals (and if they refuse, they would be nationalised), and the convening of a Constituent Assembly to do away with the 1993 constitution written during the Fujimori dictatorship (Keiko’s father).

Despite all of that, or perhaps precisely because of the hatred it provoked amongst the ruling class, Castillo started the second round campaign 20 points ahead of his rival. That lead narrowed as election day came closer. Partly because the hate campaign pushed wavering voters towards Keiko Fujimori, but also partly because Castillo attempted to tone down his message and moderate his promises.

While in the first round he had promised to convene a Constituent Assembly come what may, now he said he would respect the 1993 Constitution and ask Congress (where he has no majority) to call a referendum on convening a Constituent Assembly. While in the first round he said he would nationalise the mines, now he stressed that he would attempt to renegotiate the contracts first. The more he did that, the more his lead narrowed, to a point where on election day his victory was only razor thin.

The masses of workers and peasants who support Castillo were ready to come out on the streets to defend his victory, as Fujimori cried fraud and appealed the results. In the days leading up to the election and immediately afterwards there have been rumours of a military coup. Prominent Fujimori supporters called on the Army to step in to prevent a Castillo take over.

This gives you an indication of what Castillo will face once he is sworn in. The ruling class and imperialism will resort to all means necessary to prevent him from actually ruling. We have seen the same script being played in the past against Chavez in Venezuela. Prominent members of the coup-plotting Venezuelan opposition were in Lima to back Fujimori. They will use Congress and other bourgeois institutions, the media, the state apparatus (up to and including the army), economic sabotage, to constrain his ability to implement his policies.

Castillo will now be faced with a dilemma. On the one hand, he can rule for the masses of workers and peasants who have elected him, which would mean a radical break with the capitalists and the multinationals. That can only be done by relying upon extra-parliamentary mass mobilisation. Or he can give in, water down his programme and accommodate to the interests of the ruling class, meaning he will be discredited among those who have voted for him, preparing his own downfall. If he attempts to serve two masters (the workers and the capitalists) at the same time he will please neither.

Mariategui, in the conclusion to his “Anti-Imperialist Point of View”, a document which he presented to the Latin American Conference of Communist Parties in 1929, said:

“In conclusion, we are anti-imperialists because we are Marxists, because we are revolutionaries, because to capitalism, we oppose socialism as an antagonistic system, called to succeed it.”

His point of view is today more relevant than ever.

Sorry for the long post, but a lot of this seems eerily familiar. Like Biden pretending to be a moderate and then signing all those edicts on the very first day.

Your comment was that we cannot expect the Left to accept a change without a fight, and whether we wanted that much water to flow.

My response was that we could not just accept the fraud and there would be a fight.

I think if the military steps in, the Antifa posers are going to fall in line or wind up dead or in jail—period.

What the pols have to worry about is when middle America wants to rumble.

They have never seen that before.

The Red states have the food, water, boomsticks and ammo.

The Blue cities have what is on the store shelves.

The Civil War was a reckoning because a divided house could not stand.

We are back in early 1861 by the looks of things, the house is divided more than ever, and a reckoning is nigh.

No matter what happens, I think we can both agree it is not going to be clean.

But that is on the Left, not on us.

Their theft nullified us and that wrong must be made right.

IMHO it looks like the democrats are going Hell-Bent-For-Leather to purge patriots from the military and leave only their Wokesters, Racists and other trusted Libtards.

It will take some time to accomplish but once they tip the scales there will be no going back.

The wood is probably worth more than the metal. Since our money is worth whatever the Fed says it’s worth regardless of intrinsic value, and the goal is a cashless society as it’s easier to control, then I’d answer no.

On Thursday, Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton, who along with Texas GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw had offered an avenue for members of the military to send whistleblower complaints about “woke” efforts to transform the U.S. military, revealed some blistering complaints he had received as he questioned Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

After citing numerous examples of service members disconsolate from the “woke” incidents they cited, Cotton fired off a series of questions to Austin, including, “Should a member of the organization you lead be treated differently in violation of the Constitution, I would add, based on their sex or the color of their skin?”

Cotton started by saying, “Mr. Secretary, I have received, along with Congressman Crenshaw, several hundred whistleblower complaints about Pentagon extremist and diversity training. I just want to share a small selection of what your troops are saying.”

He followed by citing reports of a military history training session being replaced with mandatory training on police brutality, white privilege, and systemic racism; instructions to a member of Special Operations that “The U.S. Special Operations community is racist”; a general officer telling an Army officer that “the entire U.S. Army is racist”; a midshipman at the Naval Academy attesting that classmates were calling America a “fundamentally racist place” and were not challenged by school administrators; an airman saying their unit was forced into a racist exercise called a “privilege walk”; a Space Force officer saying an African-American servicemember said after the training that she would never have joined the military had she known that it was such a hotbed of racism; and a white airman who said he didn’t sign up to be indoctrinated, then filed separation paperwork.

Mr. Secretary, we’re hearing reports of plummeting morale; growing mistrust between the races and sexes where none existed just six months ago and unexpected retirements and separations based on these trainings alone. And again, these are not my words, these are the words of your own troops. So I want to ask a few simple but vital questions. Mr. Secretary, do you believe that our military is a fundamentally racist organization? Yes or no, please?

It is a slow process but it will happen. Stay strong, stay focused.

No concerns about “optics”. Top to bottom cleaning house. The “Red Wave” has been replaced by a deep red cleansing flood that will drown out the problems once and for all. It has already started we are almost there. It will get worse before it gets better.

The audits have the DS terrified and distractions and possible FF will occur, up to and including foreign military action. Pray for our troops but don’t let this cause anyone to lose focus.

We are almost there and our country must be set right. Not just for the next 4 years, permanently.

So many walked away and gave up. I’m sure many of them will be back acting like they didn’t. Support is always appreciated. But for those who maintained their strength and their faith. You are the face of the tidal wave.

Joe Biden Goes Global with $40 Trillion ‘Build Back Better for the World’ Infrastructure Plan

President Joe Biden will announce during talks with world leaders at the G7 summit on Saturday a global $40 trillion infrastructure plan to “Build Back Better for the World.”

During their meeting, World leaders at the G7 summit plan to meet about the importance of a “fair, sustainable, inclusive global economy,” including a discussion about China.

Biden’s plan would offer a different option for the world, the official noted, competing with China by offering a plan with the “highest labor and environmental standards.”

“This is about providing an affirmative, positive, alternative vision for the world than that is presented by China and, in some similar ways but also in some different ways, Russia,” the official said.

The White House stated that Biden would work with Congress to increase overseas infrastructure financing and coordinate funding from other G7 nations and the private sector to help fund infrastructure for low- and middle-income countries.

They cited a needed $40 trillion investment estimation by the World Bank through 2035 for their price tag.

“[W]e’re aiming for an ambitious and credible scale,” an official said.

It’s hilarious that Rosenstein is now being attacked by the left. He willfully signed off on the “scope memo” to launch Mueller late spring 2017 after it was widely known the Comey FBI was relying on Steele for TWO dossiers (campaign + administration) to wiretap. Should be good!

You’re right! It WAS a trap....and, supposedly, the triple letter agencies all had info on bad actors getting ready to disrupt/INSURRECT the Capitol, and said nothing to USCP, beforehand?

Gimme a flipping break.

Good for Sen Johnson, who was also banned from Twitter, for his HCQ questions/facts.

The slow march is reaching warp speed 😩

Years ago when we moved back to WA and started a print business we started an IRA account. Not knowing ANYTHING about stocks etc or Merrill Lynch we let Merrill handle it. One of the stocks they put us in is Blackrock. We stopped putting money in after a few years as we had to live on everything we made so it wasn’t a whole lot put in. The stocks NEVER went very high and we had to start drawing a minimum after reaching 72yrs old. At the most we got each was $2000 for the year. Since I don’t want to have to pay taxes on what is still sitting in the IRA account I don’t want to draw it all out.

Every time a house sells in my neighborhood I go to the property tax site to see what they sell for. One across the street the second owners bought it for $185,000 in 2014 and it just sold again for $350,000. It has less square footage than mine. Anyway I have never seen any cooperation as having bought them. They are all individuals.
