Meet The Ransomware Group Behind Colonial Pipeline Shutdown: ‘Our Goal Is Cash Not Chaos
“The FBI confirms that the DarkSide ransomware is responsible for the compromise of the Colonial Pipeline networks,” the agency wrote in a Monday statement. And more on the mysterious group:
White House officials said at a press briefing that the FBI has been investigating the DarkSide ransomware since October of last year.
“It’s a ransomware as a service variant, where criminal affiliates conduct attacks and then share the proceeds with the ransomware developers,” deputy national security adviser Anne Neuberger said

In its own statement, the DarkSide group hinted that an affiliate may have been behind the attack and that it never intended to cause such upheaval. Like some other ransomware groups, DarkSide offers to sell its malware to others in what is known as “ransomware-as-a-service,” according to the cybersecurity firm Cybereason.
DarkSide further described itself as “apolitical” in a statement posted Monday on its website. The group said, “We are apolitical, we do not participate in geopolitics, do not need to tie us with a defined government and look for our motives. Our goal is to make money, and not creating problems for society. From today we introduce moderation and check each company that our partners want to encrypt to avoid social consequences in the future.”

Biden Rolls Back Trump Proposal To Limit Work Permits For Immigrants Ordered Deported
On Monday, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that President Joe Biden’s administration will be withdrawing the proposal after reviewing 302 public comments the department received during a 30-day period.
“Nearly 98 percent of commenters opposed the proposed rule with several commenters specifically requesting that DHS withdraw the NPRM [Notice of Proposed Rulemaking],” Mayorkas said, noting that less than two percent of commenters expressed support for the proposal.
Those who backed the proposal supported it because they believed it would deter illegal immigration and protect U.S. workers, Mayorkas wrote.
Commenters opposed to the rule were concerned about the immigrants’ ability to support their families and the impact it would have on their potential employers.
The rule “would impose exorbitant costs and burdens on U.S. employers related to labor turnover,” the DHS said.
“DHS believes that continuing to provide employment authorization to individuals who have final order of removal and are released from DHS custody on an order of a supervision is consistent with this administration’s values and priorities on immigration enforcement,” Mayorkas said in justifying the withdrawal.
American workers lose again. They do get extended unemployment, until they don’t.

I won’t easily forget this Mother’s Day, what with the “light” going on inside my head for the particularly peculiar reason that it did...
I revealed to my nieces (actually my brother kind of mocked me) that I had gotten the dreaded Wuhan VAX and knowing what a Trumper and stereotypical boomer I was, the family was floored to learn that I had capitulated and took the “cure.”
I defended myself by saying that I did it so as I could be a guinea pig for them and with that confession, everyone let out howling laughter because (unbeknownst to me) they had all already gotten the shots.
In their eyes, I was the last person they would ever have suspected of “complying” with the conventional wisdom of the day.
Seeing their reactions, I said that I now had regrets about getting the shots. Feeling even more defensive, I explained that I had an internal debate one Sunday afternoon and after reaching the conclusion that I would get the “treatment” I searched online for a solution and found a grocery chain that had an appointment the following morning and from the time that I became “pro shots” to actually getting a shot, a mere 18 hours had elapsed in time. I told them that I surprised even myself in both my efficiency and impulsiveness.

I actually debated on whether to go to my niece’s house to celebrate Mother’s Day, where the family would be honoring my sister, their mother, and boy oh boy what a mistake that would have been in hindsight.
Little did I know that in reflecting on Mother’s Day, on my departed mother, and on my life as her son, that I would have such a remarkable epiphany or awakening.
It really helped to put it down in words, and the magic happened right here on the Trump Family Train. ;0)

Actually, Trump was responsible for getting the vax out so fast and was never an anti-vaxxer. However, Biden and Harris were, until they came to power. I think the reason most that don’t want to get the vax happen to be Trumpers are we have always been cautious about everything.
I’m not against it, but personally I wait to see long term effects before taking anything. I don’t even take a lot of prescription meds they try to get me to take, but that’s just me and if I truly need it, I’ll take it.
So, you could have said you are glad they saw Trump’s side, lol, but probably better you didnt.

Your friend may need to re-write her will and leave out the DIL and make the grand-kids the beneficiaries. She may also want to let the DIL know she is anticipating doing this, amazing how money and possessions changes people.

That’s not a bad idea at all. I am going to suggest that to her - her son is fine financially and frankly, doesn’t deserve anything considering how he lets his wife treat his parents.
