Once I was quail hunting and walked up on a fox, to within about 50 feet. It just stood there and looked at me instead of running off. I waited until it left (which it did in no hurry), but I was planning to shoot it if it took even one step toward me.
I see videos on YouTube all the time of wild foxes approaching people, who pet them and welcome them into their laps. Weirdest thing ever, and then I think, “Aren’t foxes and bobcats the most commonly rabid animals.... aside from bats?”
