I have no idea how many Americans have “contracted COVID” and I suspect no one else does. This is because many infections are entirely ASYMPTOMATIC or are SYMPTOMATIC but the person just quietly clears the disease. I wish we knew the answer to that question and to the related question of when will we reach herd immunity.

I also don’t know the answer to your second question other than to say the percentage of the vaccinated who later catch COVID will be VASTLY LOWER than the percentage of the UNvaccinated who later catch COVID while remaining unvaccinated.
