It is both depressing and scary.
Scott Adams cryptically refers to a network of people who are setting their sights on the MSM Propaganda Apparatus. He’s not a conspiracy theorist. I hope he’s onto something.
Our parents thought the same thing as we passed through the ‘60s and ‘70s. And think of their parents, watching as the winds of war gathered in Germany, Russia, and Japan.

God is still in control and His purposes are being worked out as prophesied in the Scriptures. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
You disregarded history and all it teaches. On your watch, America just died a little. It's likely she'll never be the same again. Some of you have no idea what you've done. Sadly, some of you do.
Absolutely spot on.
I respectfully disagree.
What we are going through is little different than what the country went through in the early 1920’s and late 1960’s.
We are witnessing the transition of ruling power migrate from one generation to the next. This happens like clockwork. And it’s never pretty.
Whenever you look at our leaders and ask, “Why are the so old?” And then you realize they are not all that much older than you. And the “up and comers” look like babies.
The young people—and there are a bunch of them—think differently; communicate differently, and live differently. It’s like watching an alien race from afar.
But when you spend time among them, they aren’t that horrible.
These times are generally marked by wars, depression, and social upheaval.
Sure they might seem scary. But, those of us watching “our world” slip away have to realize we can do what we can to teach these kids. We can explain how stuff works. We can explain how nasty the world is. But honestly, there are simply not enough of us involved to make much of a difference.
Once that has become clear, you batten down your hatches financially and health wise, surround yourself with those you love, and enjoy the good things. If you are not willing to do that—or if you fight it...your life will be miserable. We don’t have to change to meet the woke crap. We should be watching, listening, and bringing wisdom to the arguments.
I don’t see either side’s “grey beards” doing that.
Onlg because we’re letting it happen. It can be turned around in no time.
Some folks, aka our Founding Fathers, knew what was up.
But it’ll take a strong leader.
Best post in ages...thanks for taking the time to bring it to our attention!

Much of what you say makes sense and in fact I am living your recommendation as far as taking care of my own and not being to very bothered by whats going on. Part of the reason is I believe little of what I read in the media although there is so much of it it does give one pause.
I do remember the 60’s well since I turned 18 in 1960. I just don’t recall the so very obvious corruption we see throughout Government.
SILENT RUNNING by Mike and the Mechanics. Our childrens’ children will have to fight because we stood still.
Watching a historical show of Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor. Today’s whiny spoiled cancel culture brats have nothing on the Greatest Generation. Shameful, we are letting it happen.
“Shameful, we are letting it happen.”
It is these same people who are not just letting it happen but embracing the changes now occurring.
It brings to mind that phrase, “Be careful what you wish for because you may just get it”
Corruption has always been there—but the politicians were ashamed of it and tried to keep it secret.
One major difference these days is that they are attempting to use censorship and cancel culture to silence whistle-blowers.
Genesis 18:24 always comes to mind. Fear not; He told us how it ends.
The JFK corruption made this election look tame. MacNamara ran a war for profit. I don’t mean to diminish those who went to Vietnam...but hindsight is 20/20.
What has changed is the echo chamber found on social media (FR included.). We tend to read and favor that which makes us most comfortable. Everyone should stretch their legs and wallow in the crap from the other side. Every once in a while you might find a truth. Not often, mind you. But I have eternal hope.
As I tell my son in law, I hope I grow old enough for his beautiful two year old daughter to inform him how he is ruining her life with his outdated rules. That would make me laugh out loud.
God, and His word, help people to face truth of things (even horrible or evil things, losses, etc) without or with just minimal depression or fear.
Hi.
I pray to the Lord of Hosts that I die in a pile of brass. Amen.

I am a firm believer in our Lord Almighty and have no fear of dying because I know what awaits me (if I can only get past St Peter).
