You have to do your own due diligence and judge any risks you conclude seem truthful against any reason that can motivate you to assume the risk. No one can decide for you, and I would not presume to say “you should do ............” and then share in your responsibility for what follows, either way.

Maybe you should ask fellow Freepers just to share what they decided for themselves, and why; not as advice but merely noting what they did.

Fear is bad motivator often. And I do not think that the vaccine is as essential as public officials say. I have never had the flu vaccine and never had a serious flu illness.

That said:

I did let fear motivate me.

It was not fear of the vaccine - I am still not 100% sure of that - but fear of public officials inhibiting my freedom to travel. I weighed for myself that the risk of the vaccine was not that certain but the risk of travel restrictions seemed to be getting more certain by day. Time will tell if my fear was alloed to steer me wrong.

Fear is used a psychological tool used by salesmen. “You don’t want tooth decay do you? Better get this deep flouride treatment” or “this car has a 5 star safety rating” or “you don’t want your baby crib to have germs” or “if your friends cringe when you speak you may have halitosis” etc etc. Somewhere between 20%-30% of people make buying decisions based on fear.

I saw two young healthcare coworkers hospitalized with Covid for about a week. One had asthma. I saw others get it and have mild symptoms. You have to pick your poison. It was an easy choice for me, I was in the front of the line the first day it was available. I had dose 2 about 4 hours before Biden was inaugurated. I had a sore arm after dose 1 for about 2 days and I had body aches and chills when I woke up the next day after dose 2 that lasted about 6 hours.
