The Democrats House vote margin has fallen to only two votes.

This came after Rep Julia Letlow (R-LA) was sworn in.

Fox News reported:

House Democrats are barely holding onto their majority, with Rep.-elect Julia Letlow, R-La., set to be sworn in Wednesday morning.

Letlow will be joining the House in the seat originally won by her husband, Luke Letlow, who died in September from COVID-19 before he was supposed to be sworn in. Julia Letlow won a special election in March.

This gives Republicans 212 seats in the House, catching up to Democrats’ 218. Since tie votes fail in the House, that means Democrats cannot lose more than two votes from their party to pass legislation if the GOP fully opposes them.

Ok total is 430, half is 215, but need 216 to get a bill passed (ties fail) and there are 218 Dems and 212 Repubs, so am trying to figure the margin.

Is it 2, which would make it 216 Dems and 214 Repubs?

Or is it 4, which would make it 214 Dems and 216 Repubs?

Margin of 3 makes it 215 each, a tie, which fails.
