I’ve sent it to all of my relatives and friends in Canada and America with a renewed warning that covid is a screen being used to hide a very dangerous freedom-ending digital tyranny. This pastor gets it completely. His accent suggests he might be from a place where he’s seen tyranny up close and escaped it, only to see it starting here.
My 11 days in Texas were a whirlwind of golf, restaurants and mostly warm sunshine. I was disappointed to see so many mask wearers, most of whom admitted that they were only wearing them because their private company employers demanded it. I have 14 days of not being allowed to leave my house (government quarantine for daring to leave the province) to write letters to all of these establishments to criticize their mandates.
I was forced to wear a mask on the planes under threat of being placed on a no-fly list, but I was only minimally cooperative. I won’t go into details since I hope to fly again in a couple of months 😉. I feel a renewed sense of peace and good spirits to rejoin the fight and started with your link. Apologies to Larry - Moe and Curly for not being able to get the 4 hours northwest for a visit... one car and not in complete control of the itinerary.
It’s good to reconnect but I feel hopelessly behind and out of touch.

That’s so good to see! I’ve been very worried about the level of militancy my fellow-Canadians have been prepared to express. So far, it’s been disappointing, but maybe the Calgary pastor and Vancouver restaurant patrons videos show it’s changing.
One of my own customers was commenting about Premier Ford cancelling Easter by locking Ontario down again yesterday for 28 days - no visitors from outside your own home, restaurant indoor dining closed completely. The customer stated “This is getting ridiculous.” They know there’s something stinky about the narrative, but have been reluctant to express it because denial of the mandates gets turned on you as “Oh, you don’t care if people die?”
Anecdotally, it appears that people are indeed defying this lockdown. My restaurant has predictable sales patterns well-established through the years. If people weren’t gathering in their homes for Easter celebration, my sales would be up over previous Easter Sundays. So far today, my sales are normal for an Easter Sunday. I’m so proud of my fellow Canadians for their defiance, even if it’s surreptitious. I’m sure there will be many reports in the coming days about fines and intrusions into people’s homes from health officials who received reports from their Chad and Karen neighbours. I fail to understand why people even open the door to these intruders.
If I weren’t under quarantine and expecting a visit from a health official, I’d pick up my son and his girlfriend, drive them into my garage, close the door, exit into the back yard and enter the house through the side door. Breaking quarantine on day 1 didn’t seem like such a hot idea though, plus I didn’t have time to buy all the preparations anyway, having only returned yesterday by taxi from Buffalo. Had I flown to Toronto, I’d have ended up in Covid Hotel Hell there for 3 nights minimum at a cost of $2000. I also have a Chad and Karen next door who would likely report my gathering to the authorities and, as much as I love my son, a $3000 fine for breaking quarantine so soon would be reckless. We need to choose our battles.
