I’ve never heard anyone claim you shock an egg to make it easier to peel... you shock an egg to stop the cooking process so they don’t overcook and you don’t wind up with those lovely green coated yolks that will turn your farts into chemical warfare.

Piercing the least pointed end of the egg will eliminate the greening.

Pro Tip on clearing the room after lunch: Make sure the lunch your wife packed for you includes several deviled egg halves and a banana sandwich.

That’s all I’m going to say about that. But I didn’t send him that combination again.

When you cook eggs turn off the heat as soon as it boils, let stand 20-30 minutes, then peel. No green yolks!.if you put a little vinegar or oil in the water they peel easier.
