I will catch flack for saying this: but multiple marriages and children is a southern and lower SEC thing apparently.
In the 30 yrs I’ve spent vacationing in NC and SC, I’ve come to know many of the “white’ locals. I’ve often asked, why they don’t just date instead of getting married at the drop of a hat. Of course this is anecdotal, but I’m frankly shocked by the amount of people I know on their 3rd and 4th marriages, with numerous of children and blended families.
It’s absolutely the same here in Virginia. I know someone whose parents got married at the drop of a hat, only for the daddy to divorce mommy the second she got pregnant.
It is definitely a lower class southern thing.
You should also ask how many of them are on SSI and medicaid, with opioid painkiller prescriptions.
You might be shocked. Or not.
