Nowhere in Revelation or elsewhere do I see any mention of steps leading up to the mark being the mark itself.
Please do not muddy the waters on this very clear issue.
We all have been guilty of making compromises, for money or status or whatever, and they should be seen later for what they were. That doesn’t mean they are the same as taking the mark.
If Nike shoes had been part of it, John would have seen it. He was shown the parts he needed see and write down.
