Much like the Foxfire books, it documents things that are becoming lost.
I never thought of it that way but you're right in most of the world. In Italy it is still being passed down from mother to daughter. I don't think they will ever stop making their own pasta. Most everywhere else is satisfied with the dried, boxed stuff.
I’ve been re-reading the Foxfire books. I think I have five out of seven that were written.
One common theme in all the interviews with the old timers back in the early 70s is how disgusted they are with the way young people were at that time and how much the world had changed from their youth.
Which is the way I feel today.
