It’s truly a remarkable book series.

Where else you gonna read about boogers and haints?

And curing hides with Hickory ashes and following bees from a water source back to their tree then cutting it down and stealing the queen to start your own hive in a hollowed out stump.

That’s impressive!

So few cook like that anymore.

I’m of Italian descent and my pop was born over in Naples.

We have headed into fourth generation territory now and with each generation it seems less of the cooking traditions survive.

I’m noticing that it’s becoming more and more a love of cooking Italian food among any group that is keeping the traditional ways of cooking going.

Have a number of non Italian background friends who have really gotten into cooking Italian food.

Anyway, that sounds delicious. And since it’s 3am, I’m guessing it’s all gone or maybe a little bit of leftovers :)

I’m pretty sure at this point I could not visit the site for 5 years and when I do again, I’ll see a Seinfeld reference and I’ll know it’s you :)

I’m a ravioli shape now :(

How about Anunzio, Franny, Carmela, Anneilo, Antonio, etc? :)

Those are/were my aunts’/uncles’ last names..some of them at least.

Now, we just had a fourth generation child born and his name is....Cole :)

Things have changed culturally so much in my family from 40 years ago that I joke “instead of WOPs, everyone is acting like WASPs” :)

And those people are the salt of America. It is because of them that there is an America. A great people.

And we are all Americans now, even if we do refer to our heritages.

But the Italian flavor added to the melting pot was fun :)

And it is disappearing quickly.

My nephew didn’t even have the Tarantella played at his wedding.

I miss it so much. I still go to many of the web sites just to look around.

DiBruno Brothers (cheese, oils, wines)

Talluto's (fresh pasta and cheeses)

Claudio Specialty Foods (cheeses, salumeria, breads)

Fante's Kitchen Shop (omg! everything for cooking Italian or 'medican)
