The only way that would be a satellite intercept is if it was hit after it was set on a reentry course.

That type of reentry debris plume is from something hit while it was on the way in in one piece.

Surely entering. Hitting something in boost phase would leave debris to slow and cool for that.

Where are the videos taken? It looks a helluva lot like something struck while reentering ballistically.
