Just over two weeks after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott lifted coronavirus mandates allowing businesses to operate at 100 percent capacity and made masks optional, the red state is still reporting decreases in cases and hospitalizations.
The governor championed his state’s success in a Friday night tweet saying, “Today Texas recorded the lowest 7-day COVID positivity rate since that data began being calculated: 5.43%.”

Bette Midler tweeted her disgust for America exceptionalism on Thursday in response to the recent mass shootings in Boulder, Colorado, and Atlanta.
“American exceptionalism is such bullshit,” Midler wrote. “Yeah, exceptional in Coronavirus deaths, and exceptional in mass shootings. No country on earth has the kind of mass shootings we do. We are held hostage by the worst of the worst, and are too cowardly to stand up to them.”

Some businesses are still requiring masks; I double mine up so it covers the least amount and leaves a space for air to get in... it’s just for show.
