Also Russia under Putin is a nationalist nation, i.e. Russia First. Just like with President Trump we are America First. DC and the swamp, like you said, are stuck in the cold war mentality as Russia being a communist adversary, which is outdated and useless in today’s world. This outdated policy IMO is what keeps the military industry complex employed and keeps so many unneeded US military bases spread out over Europe. For a real communist all one has to do is look at a supposed US ally in Germany. They’ve had a cold war communist running their country for over a decade and just now are fed up with her, yet her replacement is a carbon copy. Plus the communist watermelon Green Party is very strong in Germany also. In today’s world affairs I’d bet we could depend or work with Russia, Germany heck no they’d stab us in the back. The EU is just a western version of Red China IMO.

For those who just plain can’t (or won’t) set aside the Cold War mentality, I usually ask if they’ve forgotten that Japan actually DID attack America on 12/07/41. Yet we’ve had very cordial relations with the Japanese for decades.
