Now I’m really confused. I’ll be back after a review, because I can’t remember who the contrast group was for sure.
It just came to me. You were discussing elections and you depending on Bircher’s and Mormon’s in your underdog status in NM. I’m guessing it is even worse today with the NM dark blue status.
That said, my confusion relates to the mutual exclusivity. Without giving away too many secrets, I belong to both and don’t see it. Perhaps I’m not seeing it from your viewpoint.

Obviously, to anyone with half a brain, [they] shift the premise to a statement nobody in COS movement, and certainly not I, have said. Then they argue against that statement. Classic “Straw Man Fallacy,” a basic error of logic.

If anyone wants to debate a COS without resorting to such logical fallacies, I’m otherwise open.
Things are different in NM. I lived there for almost 14 years. Out West in Silver City for almost all of that time.
Even the rabid mine union locals liked to hunt. Many of them had expensive rifles (Weatherby’s and Brownings, etc) but their homes were small and simple. Every year when hunting season began, the store crews were the old guys, they young ones “went hunting”.
There were a lot of deer in the Gila Forest.
Talking about contrasts, one of the locals was a Catholic Nun called Sister Stanislaus (spelling?), most Catholics there were leftist, She was a John Birch member. So stereotype is often a mistake. I never knew where she was from.
I made that statement, trying to be funny.
But no, I’ve never been a member, but new many over the years who were.
They were usually very private people. And most of them had known me for some time before they told me.
One of them was a customer (I was in the wholesale hardware distribution business for ~40 years), one day I went into his office for a signature on some form and in the corner of the office was a Thompson (semi auto) complete with a drum feed. Smile. I asked him about it, he said during WWII he carried one and wanted it.
His wife was the Registrar at their local University (in a city in NM) and they were both very active John Burch members.
They were both very intelligent and private people.
I have HUGE respect for JBS - true patriots.

COS folks can’t answer a simple question.

There are at least two Freepers that visit, with both sides of the issue represented. It is a divisive issue for patriots, and frankly ought not to be. If you happen to think the climate is right for your suggestion, those of an opposing opinion would think you can’t see the forest for the trees. I’m sure for some that works both ways if you happen to buy into the “NO PROBLEM” COS agenda.
In my opinion the movement is dead because there is sufficient opposition in State Legislatures to oppose it. That said, the moving of the goal posts never ends and now the sacrosanct properly worded resolution, has morphed into the anything goes strategy with which they will now further abuse and distract State Legislatures from important business while defending themselves from the COS scam.
Regardless what protections you think are available to prohibit the possibility of anything going wrong, consider the FACT the media will have the narrative, and that is actual fact. They are not interested in the least of achieving success through amendment ratification, only in the destruction of the Constitution as a viable foundation of our Government. They are drooling with eagerness and anticipation to have the opportunity handed to them by patriotic American’s who cannot see the forest for the trees.
