Thank you, BC! Good stuff. In our house all forms of elevating music is allowed.

Music slide...at one time hubby, oldest son, and younger sons were all in different bands. Hubby in an orchestra playing trumpet. Older son in rock band. Younger son in a jazz band.

I would walk down the hallway and hear everyone practicing this cacophony of sounds. It was funny.

I like Porgy and Bess! But I like most music really. Broadway musicals. Les Miserables is probably my favorite of that genre.

I’m on my tablet and haven’t figured out how to minimize and link, so I can’t remember her name but it’s the witch song ?? From Mozart’ s Magic flute. She’s incredible.

Well that old corny joke cones to mind. Bach later. Offenbach sooner lol.

Petey..

Perhaps you are thinking of THE QUEEN OF THE NIGHT’s aria, titlled “O zittre nicht, mein lieber Sohn.” (Tremble not, my dear son) .. I found this excerpt from “THE MAGIC FLUTE” on Youtube - https://youtu.be/IkA65PLEdac Frankly, there are so many recordings of THE MAGIC FLUTE, I have no idea which vocalist you are referring to here. No Matter though.

About 40 years ago, I took a friend to see INGMAR BERGMAN’s film production of “THE MAGIC FLUTE”.. See it if you can.. it’s pretty marvelous~ WHOA! I found the Bergman film on Youtube! - https://youtu.be/ufQxByt7dNM with English Subs!

Yeah.. she had no use for it... ya see, it was in a foreign language.. no patience for Swedish! But, I had a good time, anyway.. Mozart is the finest composer ever.. that is; beside Gershwin~ ;>)

Bach? Offenbach? LOL !~

Years ago Sylvester Stallone, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Arnold Schwarzenegger were invited to a costume ball. The only catch was that they had to come dressed as famous composers.

Stallone said, "I'll be Vivaldi. He was a good Italian."

Van Damme said, I'll be Beethoven. He was a good German."

Hearing nothing they looked at Arnold who said, "I'll be Bach."
