These things are very interesting to watch. I watched the fissures that broke out in Hawaii for months, especially Big Daddy. I still keep tabs on it through a guy who lives in Leilani Estates and even bought an acre lot on Big Daddy’s lava field. LOL

RUV appears to be a news/TV web site and their engineers are who set up the cam. The did a fabulous job and are providing folks around the world with a heck of a show!

There's been a hole in the side for a little while but it's still attached at the top.

Even now you can see it's attached but lava flows over it from time to time.

The hole's getting bigger and I expect that top section will break at some point. But then again, every time lava splashes over that top strip, it adds a little more lava to it as it cools. It'll be interesting to see what happens there.

I just saw a brief piece on the evening news about it and they showed a video clip from a helicopter as it flew over.

Though it still looks like lava dribbles over a strip of lava across the top of the break from time to time, there is no strip. Odd.

It’ll be fun watching this play out for however long it goes on. Thank goodness this one doesn’t endanger any homes or towns like Fissure 8 did in Hawaii. Many homes lost in that lava field.
