I live in central NY, 138 miles from Ticonderoga, and never knew this. I've been to Ticonderoga many years ago, specifically to Fort Ticonderoga where Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Boys captured the fort in 1775. About 50 miles from there, in Moreau, New York, is Grant Cottage, where President U.S. Grant lived until his death. It's been preserved as a museum, exactly as it was when he passed, including the floral displays (now dried) that were sent for his funeral. I visited that many years ago too. Beautiful views of the surrounding valley from the property.

Yep- we went ot Fort Ti- great place to visit- fun day- they did reenactments, had a lot of historical facts, and fired off the cannons- was pretty cool

I also went up on ‘dynamite hill’ i think the name was- it was a small mountain where they had cannons overlooking lake george- the views were phenomenal- had a fun day0-
