Actually, they're on the other side of the Atlantic from here. ;-) (I think you can right-click and "view image" to see the descriptions.) I used to be familiar with the area, in a past life. (And now here I am in Flat Fla. LOL) If only they'd had digital cameras back then! Will post more as I have time, and can find the best ones. They bring back pleasant memories!
Those are clouds, not water!
This is water. ;-)

Las Islas Canarias. 'Bout as fur as ye kin git across the Atlantic, before hittin' Africa. :)

You were there? Isn’t that where if one part of a mountain slides off it will create a tsunami that will be gigantic?

I've heard those rumors, but don't think it's a likely scenario any time soon. That would be the island of La Palma. They discuss pros and cons of that hypothesis on the
Wikipedia page.
I lived on the two major islands, Gran Canaria and Tenerife, in the late '70s through early '80s, and visited 4 of the 5 other islands, including La Palma, where I once hiked and camped with a group of friends inside the Caldera.

That is amazing. You must have had incredible experiences. Do they speak Spanish there? I assume you learned it. Those are beautiful photos. (Yeah, I’m not worried about the tsunami, just the tsunami of evil...)

Yes, Spanish. The islands form two provinces of Spain. I learned to speak it there, by immersion. Sink or swim. LOL They have their own unique accent and idioms, slang, etc. Later on the mainland, people laughed at my speech, but I was rather proud of it. Fun times - my youthful adventure years!
(I can't claim credit for any of these gorgeous photos - they're from the web - mine were all on film, and are somewhat scratched and faded with time, though I've endeavored to scan them.)
