Rest assured, nothing bad will happen to the two savages—at least at the state’s hands. The younger will be tried as a ‘juvenile’ and will likely leave wherever he is sent with a clean record. NY has a category of ‘adolescent offender’ for the older savage. He too, may come out of all of this with a clean record as well.

We wouldn’t want their lives ruined by just one ‘youthful indiscretion’ (setting a man on fire and burning him alive) would we? It’s funny. When we read in history of heretics being burned alive at the stake, we are rightly horrified. When two young thugs do the same thing, society’s reaction seems to be ‘Meh’.
