“But if they vote no… Everything will be on the table,” said Schumer.

Changing or eliminating the #Filibuster is possible if Republicans continue opposing Democrat legislative priorities, said Sen. #ChuckSchumer.

Posting a new Wictor thread; leaving out graphics about the comparisons to historical Japanese warfare; link takes one to the whole thing. (Thanks to those who told me how to get link for threads on QV and read in the right order!)

The allegory comparing historical Japanese warfare is not really vital to the thread but leaving it intact.

Thread

Guess how I have to machine-translate Japanese?

(I no longer speak it.)

From Japanese to various OTHER languages.

Eventually I find the meaning, one word at a time.

Today I did 7000 words. Hardcore professorial formal Japanese from the National Institute for Defense Studies, Ministry of Defense.

So what’s up with Trump?

It’s futile to try and convince some people that Trump has his sights set on FAR MORE than an election.

But it’s true.

If and when Trump acts, we’ll have a genuine insurgency.

Car bombs, roadside bombs, mass-casualty incidents.

So what the military is doing at this moment is carrying out an operation to prevent that.

They’re using surveillance and data mining to preempt what China and Iran’s agents—Antifa and BLM and the cartels—have planned.

Last year a woman set up TikTok accounts and accounts on other platforms for the purpose of posting videos of her torturing and killing cats.

I’ll spare you the details.

What she didn’t know was that in 2019, Trump had a new law passed that will land her in federal prison for about a decade.

The FBI caught her.

She was 18 and weighed a cool 280 pounds.

Now she’s in a world of hurt.

Dead eyes.

Lucky girl. I have a special hatred for those who commit atrocities on the helpless.

It’s good to show people what it’s like to be on the receiving end.

See, she’s the type of person who will try to commit mass murder when Trump acts.

So Trump has to mitigate that issue as much as possible.

That’s why it’s “taking so long.”

But it’s not possible to get through to some people.

I myself am perfectly happy to wait as long as it takes.

I’d much rather Trump take his time and mop the earth with the world’s malefactors than get back in the White House just to get even with...Pelosi.

Biden.

Schumer.

Nadler.

And whichever other carcass I didn’t mention.

Entities that don’t matter.

Not in the greater scheme of things.

I’ll give you an allegorical story that really happened.

I’m looking for photos of an armored aircraft called the Albatros J.1.

I found one on eBay that was clumsily retouched with ink, so I bought it because you can always wash off the ink.

Except for this time.

The emulsion came off with the damp Q-tip, and I ruined my photo.

My temples were pounding.

BUT.

In moving my stuff, I found a drawing I have that I forgot about, that a guy let me use for a future book.

It’s even got the camouflage scheme that it wore when the Japanese received it.

See, the Japanese wanted to learn combined-arms warfare after World War One, so they got some of these armored German aircraft.

They had machine guns mounted to fire downward through the floor.

I found THAT photo yesterday.

Some of them had up to SIX machine guns firing downward.

Found THAT photo yesterday, in an old book I have.

And some had side-mounted 20mm automatic cannons.

Exactly like today’s AC-130.

So I lost my crappy photo but ended up with a bonanza of images.

If I hadn’t ruined the original image—which has been published 5000 times—I wouldn’t have found these other images.

The document I’m translating is how the Japanese were culturally unable to adopt combined-arms warfare because the men in charge believed that fighting spirit and the bayonet would solve all their problems.

Individual initiative was not one of their skills.

It is TODAY, but not in 1922, the year of their first combined-arms exercise.

Squad leaders simply couldn’t make decisions on their own.

So during World War II, the Japanese went back to banzai charges.

They were the most poorly trained and equipped major power in the war.

Even the MACHINE GUN was considered too newfangled.

A lot of Americans are as cognitively rigid as the Japanese. It’s a deficit.

People can’t accept that others are much better at something.

Nobody is better at strategizing than Trump.

At this moment, he’s in his element. Having the time of his life.

What’s amazing is what he gets away with.

He didn’t fly back to Mar-a-Lago from New York. But the press was told that he did, so they reported it.

Trump gave everyone the slip and disappeared.

Think how utterly AWESOME that is. He’s a GENUINE shadow president.

Try and catch a shadow.

Good luck.

END
