Thanks for that recipe link link. I live in a loquat neighborhood and our childhood neighbor a few doors away had a nice tree. The pie recipe sounds like the one we tried. Think of making an apricot pie but with a bit more work. Lots of seeds to remove and you need to pre-cook the filling a bit. Wonderful flavor.
Jeeze yer persnickety LOL but is pineapple even a fruit? it grows below ground and it dont grow in Wisconsin!
This article is a cow pie.
PA’s most popular is apple pie. Regionally, there are differences. Around here, it’s apple and wet bottom shoo fly.
Why isn’t boysenberry pie on the list? That should be the hands-down favorite for California—at least Southern California, where the berry originated.
By the way, I’ve never heard of grape pie.
This is B.S. I’ve lived in North Carolina most of my life and never heard of Applesauce pie. Some transplanted liberal Yankee carpetbagger from the Cary area must have loaded the poll.
Apple is ubiquitous to the area, but wet bottom shoo fly sounds like some sort of Amish accident.
I don’t believe this is correct.
Rhubarb pie’s the best of all. NOT strawberry-rhubarb, but the straight stuff.
Hey man, I read it on the internets and Joe Biden did not condemn it..
Pineapples grow below ground? You might be thinking of potatoes.
it’s not what’s in the pie but the crust that makes the pie. Flakey and tender. If the middle stays up and doesn’t fall down on the filling you can’t bet it’ll be a big dud.
I have never even heard of pineapple pie, much less seen one. Except for packaged fried pies solid at gas stations.
Surprised that the story didn’t tout dingleberry as being a favorite somewhere.
Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it.
There is the whoopie pie, too. Really, two cake cookies sandwiching a flavored iced filling.
Personally I like pork lard in my pie crust, very flaky, very savory.
I’m questioning the “results” cited in this article.
In all my decades here in the Old Line State, I’ve never seen cranberry pie on a menu, and know of very few people who even like it. And, I’ve never heard of grape pie, no less observed it as a favorite among Marylanders.
My mom would make straight Rhubarb pie. I love it. I’ve been known to turn down strawberry rhubarb though. I get why folks add the berry to sweeten it up, but it isn’t my cup of tea.
Which aint a pie at all..
You want a pie in Maine? get a slice of blueberry at Moody’s Cafe
Best crust out there is made with lard. The minimal amount of playing with the dough also makes it flaky.
