I’m sure her habitual tailgating behavior had nothing to do with it /s

I’m thinking you are not far from the truth there!

Ontario drivers are nearly as bad as Utahns.

I had a Volvo station wagon in the mid 80s that would randomly turn on the anti-lock braking system when I was braking below 15 mph. That was horribly unnerving, but it didn’t bring the car to a quick stop.

I took the car in to the dealership 26 times! They finally brought a top dog over from Finland and he discovered the wiring harness was bad which they replaced. They extended the warranty coverage so I didn’t pay a cent. But the hassle of taking it in so many times made me swear off Volvo products forever.

Sometimes, these so-called Smart Cars can work against you.
I’ve heard of people being locked inside cars.
I recall an elderly couple that got trapped for hours before being discovered. One wonders why they didn’t just break a window out. I would. A window can be replaced.

Many of these current problems are from magnesium chloride and the other “green” deicers, and wiring harness corrosion problems they cause.

Look at the recalls on electrical from all manuf, it is one after another for “corroded wiring” etc.

There is so much electronic crap on these cars that they cannot afford sealed connectors and every car on the road in the rust belt will fail prematurely due to this.

I would have taken the car in for a warranty repair.

I believe Californians and Arizonians are the worst (and most aggressive) drivers in the world.

We had a 2015 Terrain, that would suddenly begin braking. The first time it happened, I was on the freeway, did not brake, just cruising along. Suddenly, it made a moderate grinding sound and made a lurching motion to slow down. Scared me to death and became a real issue It happened again, took it in for service and couldn’t find anything wrong. We were thinking it was the new safety breaking system, but was not a feature on this model at the time. It seems GM was aware of this problem, had happened on many Terrains but not a recall. They sent us a check for 10,000.00.

The 25-year-old said she was driving on the highway with four other people when a light came on falsely indicating she was in danger of a front-end collision. Seconds later, the brakes slammed on and the vehicle came to a sudden halt, she said.

Wonder what the time and conditions were for this incident? Was the sun shining directly into the sensor for an extended period of time and it was somehow damaged? I don't if that's possible, but there was a time when night vision devices and cameras could be ruined by pointing an active device at the sun.

We have a 2017 Toyota . When using cruise control the car will slow down If the car in front heads off on an exit ramp. It happens because the fog line disappears

She’s lucky the seat didn’t eject her through the sunroof. Many new vehicles are so over designed, over engineered, too much electronics, computers, and wingbang bull chet.
