J.S. Bach
I got to see them a few times in their prime. Back when they had Keith Moon and when the lasers they used during “See Me...” were considered cutting edge.
Great memories.
Link Wray and his Wraymen. To hear it then knowing where it was all going.
Mylon
Jesus Christ and the Disciples. They sang a mean Hallel.
I was offered tix to their last show here in L.A. but I dont want to see them without Glenn Frey. It aint the Eagles..
-PJ
Django Reinhardt and the Quintet of the Hot Club of France.
Or The Who before Keith Moon died.
Best concerts I’ve attended
Elton John, Yellow Brick Road Tour
Peter Frampton in his glory
Keith Urban
The Spinners (at a private party)
The Jacksons
Ones I regret missing
Eagles
Earth Wind and Fire
Garth Brooks
Doobie Brothers
I have to admit I was under the influence way to much to have clear memory but the place would go crazy with any Angus duck walk and the show was not over until he mooned the audience.
Yep....!!!
I also saw them in 7th grade, but it was the ‘79 Dynasty tour. Great show, but from what I’ve read that tour was nowhere near as good as the Destroyer shows. I still have the shirt I bought at the show. I saw every tour the original 4 played after the reunion in ‘96.
my son and I went to the Raiders championship game back in 2003. We were walking in a few people told us Metallica was playing in the parking lot. We didn’t believe it, so just got BBQ and went to our seats. Come to find out. They WERE there and playing in the parking lot. I was so mad at myself for not just checking it out.
When Metallica played in Berkeley with the San Francisco Symphony I was online the minute tickets went on sale, but they were sold out immediately, small venue. I told a coworker, well she was a volunteer usher and got me in with her. I just helped people to their seats, and when the concert started sat on the floor with a clear view and enjoyed the show.
After that I volunteered at the Concord Pavillion for several, years. Saw some good shows. Only one I really had to work handling the crowd was Sammy Hagar. He had people on the stage drinking tequila shots.
Yes. Done the video many times. Seems like once you leave the south, bands like these weren’t as popular. We opened for Molly Hatchett one time too. That was fun.
Dio! It’s one group I was never able to catch.
Glenn Miller
That was my first concert...1974, Madison Square Garden. Ears are still ringing.
Hmm, people not going back far enough? I got introduced to big band stuff as a kid on my gramps’ old LP’s - my fav is Benny Goodman at Carnegie Hall; I think it was 1938. He taught me swing dancing.
