You do not have to watch the news for long to see that America is rapidly changing. The downward slide can be found not only in our leadership but also in the shifting definitions of right and wrong blindly accepted by many Americans today.
A downward slide could imply a precipice. The article stresses faith and the willingness to fight - at every level of government.

Which direction do you mean? I read that article in the Western Journal; he was definitely exhorting Americans do each whatever we can, in our local communities, states, to run for office, and also practice and stand up for the founding principles of our nation, which includes eternal principles of right and wrong, and faith in God.
A couple of thoughts based on the WJ article and quotes from his recent talk, which I hope to be able to listen to or read a transcript.
Downward slide leads to a precipice. A precipice is an abyss, a cliff. If a downward slide is not stopped, one reaches the precipice. The abyss now yawns in front of us.
No judiciary will help - “No one is coming to rescue us from our problems” -he wants all of us to do something, whatever we can, not sit back and wait for something to happen.
“It wasn’t strokes of luck but divine Providence that made this possible.” - without God’s help there will be no success, human beings alone cannot right this.
“Rather than waiting for someone else to fight for us, we must be willing to do the hard work ourselves.” - Trump and whoever is working with him need millions of Americans to be partners in this effort.
Gen.Flynn knows that no matter what we citizens do, we cannot arrest the criminals, we cannot lead the military, we cannot take down those dedicated to evil in high positions. He knows we can’t do everything; we can’t fix the rotten election process in every state. But we must be active partners. ANd be willing to see the truth, open to understanding that we have bee LIED TO for a long long time.
