Sir, your arrogance is stunning.

Not really. More a reply to those here always pushing blue-collar work/ “the trades” as an end-all solution to the US problems.

It’s not for everyone. Don’t make it into a solution for everyone. It definitely has a place in society, an important place, but not the only place.

Like I said, not every boy or man wants to grow up and turn a wrench or do manual labor.

Sorry, your post made it sound like every tradesman is useless.

My career has been white collar, sales/marketing type stuff. I’m sort of a hybrid right now and work with a lot of builders.

Many of them are very proud of their work and it’s more mentally complex than you might think. In many ways I wish I would have gone into the trades rather than the office setting.

As you may have read, one of my kids is in a STEM career as an astronautical engineer. He’s white and had no trouble getting a job. Two interviews with different divisions of the same company, one offer within a week.

Guess it depends on which level of STEM stuff you go into. I do know a bunch of computer guys who are constantly struggling.

I don’t know any builders, plumbers, contractors, electricians, roofers, masons and the like who are struggling.
