If the boys are academically gifted, be careful about where they go to college, and have them live off-campus, if possible.
If they are either not exceptional academically or not inclined personally towards the degree, there are trades that cannot be exported, that can make good money (e.g. plumber, electrician). My son does not take to academics, but he wants to operate cranes when he is an adult. The pay can go quite high if you are skilled, girls don’t want those jobs, and in fact with all the young men being steered towards colleges, not a lot of boys go for that right off the bat.
Also, less political correctness than in other fields.
great advice.
I’ve got four kids. Both girls have gone into literary fields. One is a book editor.
The boys diverge a bit. One is an aerospace engineer, the other is a trucker.
In reality, the trucker has a more important job. He works for a lumberyard and delivers semi loads to jobsites. He’s responsible for keeping hundreds of men employed.
