It is normalcy bias.

It is very hard for many people to believe that the “experts”, .gov, and the mass media would lie to them.

Some lessons just have to be learned the hard way.

Normalcy bias is a difficult phenomenon to spot in oneself. It also applies to people who believe that because they haven’t been sick and aren’t sick that they won’t get sick.
